The teaching component of the postdoc encouraged me to develop courses, incorporating my expertise as well as students’ interests in Korean studies. Since the postdoc also gave me the opportunity to focus on my academic work, I was able to publish academic journal articles.
My postdoc experience was crucial for me to further mature as a researcher and educator of Korean studies and inter-Asian relationships and become a productive member of academic communities beyond North America.”
